Keota Fire Department

The Keota Fire Department serves the city of Keota, Iowa, the eastern side of Keokuk county and the western side of Washington County. The department currently has 22 volunteer members. Fire Trucks and equipment are housed in the combination fire station and Keota City Hall. Officers are: Fire Chief - Ryan Sieren, Assistant Chief - Chris Heisdorffer Treasurer - Philip Morris, Chief Training Officer - Ron Wright, Health & Safety Officer - Les Osborne.

The department has 1 ladder engine, 1 engine, and 2 tankers. Other equipment includes; an equipment vehicle and 2 grass attack vehicles.

Members are certified as Fire Fighter One, Fire Fighter Two and Hazardous Materials Operations. The Department meets 2 times per month, once for a business meeting and once for a training meeting.

It is funded by county taxes, the Firemen's Golf Tournament in July and the annual Firemen's Breakfast held the last weekend of October.
